I was delighted to make the acquaintance of Paige Werth during a recent visit to the Good Luck Gallery. Paige was kind enough to give me a tour of the gallery and tell me about the self-taught artists she works with. It’s a great place to discover emerging artists. The current show is well worth checking out, but it ends tomorrow (August 27), so hurry.
This recent work is entitled “FedExpression (outsider art)” and features a text about outsider art on a FedEx box. “Outsider art is an umbrella term that was translated by art critic Roger Cardinal from Dubuffet’s Art Brut (raw art) which referred to art of the clinically insane,” apparently.
Does anyone have a black pen? – overheard around the back of the Martin-Gropius-Bau, left outside an art gallery on Linienstrasse.
Dialogue, overheard in Kreuzberg on May 1, context unknown:
“But it’s a new element in the relationship.”
“Yes, so the relationship isn’t about two any more. It’s about three.”
I left a stone on top of this electrical cabinet thing in the street one day. The next day I came back and someone had used it to weigh down these spectacles.
A spot of amateur land art.
An overheard comment, written on a card, discarded in turn.
