Sculptor at work

Bildhauer

This picture, the latest in what I have come to think of as the “Photo/Copy” series, is inspired by an 1950s book I found on the street which purported to provide the reader with comprehensive Bildung (a German term that includes general knowledge and everything a well-educated citizen should know). The legend reads: “The sculptor frees the shape from the stone.”

The lines are a result of laying the paper down on a wet seat before sticking it up (amateur!) but I rather like the effect.
